A list of Purple Heart Recipients can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Re...

Tell your grandfather thank you for serving his county.
Reply:i would think it would be public record. have you checked with his branch of the military?
Reply:As his decendant, you can request his service record. Go to: http://www.archives.gov/st-louis/militar... and follow the links. Bad news, there was a fire at the center in 1973 and approx. 80% of the records were lost. But try anyway. If they have his, you'll receive his discharge paperwork which will list all awards and decorations earned.

You can check any of your ancestors that served.
Reply:do your geneology
Reply:You can contact National Personnel Service Records in St. Louis, Mo. They should have that info on file and be able to send it to you.
Reply:It's good that u are concern about ur grandfather...It means ur be proud of Him.

So maybe u can contact any veterans organization or the army office or any offices that u think they have the idea about the one that u are asking..

Go for it as one of your goal to discover!
