Are Purple Heart Medals made from real gold & what carrot?

That is a good question and I have the answer. No!

A Purple Heart is awarded to a military serviceman or woman in the "U.S. Armed Services after 5 April 1917, has been wounded or killed, or who has died or may hereafter die after being wounded".

I know the medal is not gold or any precious medal because I have been awarded 3 + now I can only find documents of 2 from wounds I received during my 1969-1970 tour in Vietnam.

Are Purple Heart Medals made from real gold %26amp; what carrot?
Purple Hearts are made from a mettle far more precious than gold.
Reply:They have a brass core that has been anodized to the gold color. So they are not made from gold at all. Or anything more precious.
