He was aged between 18 %26amp; 22 in the army on the DMZ in Korea and Viet Nam. I was a little kid when he went in. I remember he brought the medals home but has refused to speak of what ever happened to earn them. I know he thought I was too young then. I'm nearly 50 and I want to know what my brother went through. His boot camp was at Fort Bragg,N.C. in 1967. He then went straight to Nam.
My brother got a purple heart %26amp; bronze star in Vietnam. What site can tell me WHY he got those medals?
You don't mention if your brother is still around, but if he is, please thank him for his service from another Vietnam Veteran. there are things I will never talk about either. If you know more about where, when and what unit he was with. It may be possible to find more information. If you have a Veterans Advocate Office or Veteran Outreach Center near you, they may have th resources to help. god bless us everyone.
Reply:a purple heart is when you get wounded I dont know about bronze stars sorry
Reply:Citations accompany the Medals.
Reply:Is your brother still alive? Maybe he'll talk about his medals now.
A purple heart is for being wounded in action. I'm sorry I don't know what the bronze star is for.
Reply:you type in vietnam/purple heart
