Where can I donate toys in the Downriver Detroit MI area?

What is the procedure? Can I just walk into a Salvation Army or other goodwill store and hand over boxes? I'm used to donating clothes to Purple Heart, but they pick everything up. Any ideas other than goodwill stores are appreciated too!

Toys for Tots is over, so please skip your second answer. The drop off for most Salvation Army's and Goodwill's donations are in the back of the stores. If you want to claim your donations on your taxes be sure to get a reciept. Hope this helps.
Reply:Maybe your local shopping center or downtown area has a Toys for Tots place.
Reply:Depends if you are talking about new toys for the Toys for Tots, you should be able to find a drop box just about anywhere. The local police station is a good start.

If you are talking about used toys try the Saint Vincent de Paul on Telegraph in Flat Rock. The week before Christmas, thier store had a major fire and took everything so they are in desperate need of items. The new location is on Telegraph between Vreeland %26amp; Gibralter Roads in the old Kmart Complex.

Or there is a Salvation Army thrift store (I think Salvation Army) on Eureka just west of Trenton Road, next to Toys R Us.

Hope this helps!
Reply:Most churches, homeless shelters, police stations, goodwill stores are more than willing to accept donations of any form and much appreciate the thoughtfulness to share with those in need!

Thanks for your act of kindness!
