I have heard word of a children getting Scholarship money if one of their parents recieved the Purple Heart... My step dad was shot in the face while in Iraq during a 15 month deployment... He won the purple heart, he was originally slated to be there 12 months but only several days before returning President Bush extended the 1st Armored Divison's stay by 3 months... That is when he was shot, after the extension occured... 1st Armored also recieved almost all of its casualties after the extension... Including one of my step dads best friends, Sgt. Eric Petty... My step dad is active duty in the US Army, and he is back in Iraq now, in the 3rd month of another 12 month deployment. This time with the 82nd Airborne.... I want to know how I can apply for these scholarships, how much money I get from them, what colleges they apply to and the like... Thanks for the help!
Is there a scholarship for my situation?
I'm not personally sure about these scholarships, but a great website to research all kinds of scholarships is
www.fastweb.com
You can fill out all of the information on the site. There are special questions about the military status of your parents, and the search engine will narrow down the results to what you are eligible for.
Reply:I'm not sure about this... but there's this website (fastweb.com) you can sign up for that has information on all kinds of scholarships. They will also send you emails when new scholarships have been posted and deadlines and everything!
