How many people know someone maybe a neighbor, relative, or friend,?

who worked for maybe 50 years, without healthcare, perhaps may have fought for their nation, purple heart for being wounded, but did not have a retirement plan and rely on Social Security? Now the question, some Politicians, and some people on here do not think those people should be entilted to a stimulus check because they no longer pay taxes, they are suffering from the same increases in fuel and all related price increases, so in your opinion shoud they receive the same as the people who are receiving the benefits of their efforts inbuilding this great nation?

Thats life. Some people are getting more of a check then others. I saw on the news, some people who paid a lot of taxes are getting $75,000. Should I expect that much also? I go to work every day. Why do they get more then me?

The bottom line is, this is refund check for tax payers. While I feel for the people you describe, this is not free money the government is handing out. It is a refund.
Reply:Should you get a rebate on a new computer if you don't buy that computer? No. Same for the TAX REBATE. If you don't pay taxes, how can you get a rebate?
Reply:"Cry me a river..." Now we have the Harry Reid talking points to direct more money to the richest members of our society, the elderly.

Why? They vote in mass.
Reply:I would much rather see them get the rebate than those who don't pay taxes.

But we need to remember that this is a stimulus package - and its goal is to make the economy better, not to help individuals.
