I go out of my way to avoid doing it. Same with Vietnam and Iraq veterans.
Normally I offer my thanks and a handshake, and send them on their way.
So far, that's worked. I'd hate to think the day may come when it won't.
For Police Officers? Do POWs and Purple Hearts get tickets?
This is a good question. I am an Army Military Policeman and I am curious as to how civilian police react to POW's and Purple Heart recipients. Or maybe those who have Medals of Honor. Me personally, I would express my gratitude and let them go.
Reply:Depends, most would not get out of DUI or something seroius
Reply:Tickets yes. I would not even stop someone with a vetern or purple heart license plate. Same goes for I would not write another cop, fireman or active military.
Reply:Although I'm not a police officer and the Cops are most deffinetly not my freinds I'd say unless its a seriuos violation they get off with a warning and a hand shake of respect.
Reply:Unless it's a serious violation, I always gave a professional courtesy.
Reply:id'e imagine purple hearts normally get off with a warning
