Anyone know why the color purple of "Purple Heart" medal?
Because, don't mean to be gross, but when a human heart is extracted from a human body, it is, uh, kinda purple.

Reply:because the red ribbon of courage was already taken and thats as close as they could come to the color of blood also purple is a royal color
Reply:The ribbon is made of purple silk which has royal connotations.
