I have internet searched for, but am unable to find, greater detail about how he acquired it, or them (as one or more places states he received two from the Korean War), so if anyone here knows the nature of the combat he was in, as well as the type of wound he was inflicted with, please tell me.
Thanks.
James Garner's Purple Heart?
True, theres not much listed about Korea(1963).
But if you ever talk to a Korean war vet, they quite often would much rather talk about light than darkness.
Suffice it to say the last vet from that error that I spoke with said, that he ducked into a fox hole and looked back and his best friend's headless body was kneeling beside him. He still imagines it. He told story after story and it still shakes him up to discuss it.
I would rather focus on James Garner's light rather than his darkness.
James Garner was a great humanitarian and civil rights activist in addition to being a talented actor.
God Bless
